Porhayr

A cross-platform booking marketplace for the Philippines' independent service economy — connecting customers with salons, makeup artists, tutors, tattoo & more.

01 The Problem

Booked on Messenger.
Tracked in a notebook.

Independent PH service pros have no real tools to run their business — and customers have no real way to find and book them.

🗓️

For providers

No calendar, manual price/slot haggling over chat, frequent no-shows, and visibility limited to their own followers.

🔍

For customers

No way to discover vetted providers, compare prices & ratings, see real availability, or book without a chat negotiation.

02 Target Customer

A two-sided market — we win the supply side first.

🎯 Primary — Providers we monetize

Independent beauty & wellness pros in Cebu — home salons, makeup & nail artists, barbers, massage therapists. Solo or micro-teams, smartphone-savvy, currently running on Facebook & Messenger.

👥 Secondary — Customers always free

Urban, mobile-first consumers (18–40) in Metro Cebu booking personal services. They already discover via Facebook recommendations and pay with GCash.

📍

Beachhead: one city, one vertical — beauty & wellness in Cebu City — then expand to tutoring, tattoo & fitness, then other PH cities.

03 Research Findings

What we learned.

Messenger
+ notebook
How most providers actually manage bookings today — no system, no calendar, lots of manual back-and-forth.
No-shows
A top, recurring pain point providers raise — lost income with no deposit or commitment.
GCash
everywhere
Customers and providers already transact via GCash/Maya — the payment rail is in place.

📈 Market tailwinds

The Philippines ranks among the world's highest in social-media & mobile usage; post-pandemic freelance/home-based services have surged.

🧭 Competitor gap

Global tools (Booksy/Fresha) aren't localized and charge commission; nothing PH-native is multi-vertical with 0% commission.

Directional findings from early discovery. Hard figures (interview counts, market size) to be confirmed with primary pilot research.

04 The MVP — Core Loop

Discover → Book → Show up.

One app that replaces the Messenger-and-notebook workflow with a real booking system.

  • Discover — browse & filter vetted local providers by service, area & rating.
  • Book real availability — the engine shows only bookable slots and locks them — no double-booking.
  • Pay directly — optional GCash deposit straight to the business. Porhayr never touches the money.
  • Stay in sync — in-app chat, post-booking reviews & push notifications.
04 The MVP — Scope

What we build first.

  • In: auth, provider profiles & services, availability + booking engine, discovery, direct-payment display, chat, basic reviews, notifications.
  • Platforms: iOS & Android apps + a lightweight web public profile/booking page (shareable links).
  • Deferred: subscription billing, advanced search, staff, KYC, full admin console, localization.

05 Revenue Model

Subscription-only.
0% commission.

Providers keep 100% of every payment — customers pay them directly via GCash. Money never flows through Porhayr, so no escrow or merchant licensing. Our revenue is recurring provider subscriptions.

06 What I Need From You

Back the build.

I'll design & develop Porhayr. To ship the Cebu pilot, I need the company's support across four areas:

💰

Budget

Cloud/hosting (Firebase pay-as-you-go), Google Maps API usage, Apple (≈₱5,600/yr) & Google Play (≈₱1,400 one-time) accounts, domain & dev tools.

👥

Manpower

A UI/UX designer, a QA tester, and a marketing/community hand for the pilot — so I can focus on building.

🧰

Resources

Test devices, brand assets, legal support (Terms/Privacy, RA 10173), and intros to Cebu pilot providers.

Time & trust

Dedicated development time, a realistic timeline, decision-making support, and patience through the pilot.

Fixed costs are small and mostly one-off; cloud spend is usage-based and scales only as the pilot grows.

06 My Delivery Plan

What I'll ship, in milestones.

M1 · Foundation

Auth, profiles, services, availability & booking engine (core loop).

M2 · Payments & comms

Direct GCash-deposit display, chat, reviews, notifications.

M3 · Web & polish

Public web profiles, empty/error states, QA, store submission.

M4 · Pilot

Cebu launch, monitoring, fixes & feedback loop.

Goal: a working pilot in the hands of Cebu providers — proving completed bookings before we add billing & scale features.

Let's Build It

From notebook to Porhayr.

The spec is ready, the market timing is right, and I'm ready to build. With your backing on budget, team & resources, we can put Porhayr in the hands of Cebu providers.

  • Approve the pilot budget & resources.
  • Assign design / QA / marketing support.
  • Align on the timeline & kick off the build.
